Something has to change, or everyone dies.

As a scavenger, Harry knows the truth.

The water ruins everything. It kills on contact, covers all but the smallest islands, and reduces humans to practically begging for food. Well, not quite begging: enslaved Sundered Ones make food on command, conjuring it out of thin air. It’s a shame obedience kills them.  It’s also a shame humans have no other choice.

Harry searches for artifacts left over from the time before the water came. When he’s given the chance to find a mysterious device that might fix everything, he jumps at it – but this Hope isn’t what it seems.  In his broken, flooded world, every hope has a price.

One of the MANY five star reviews!

In a world muddied by sameness, this one stands in stark contrast. Captivating, thought-provoking, breathlessly sweeping you along. Ruthanne Reid is most certainly onto something here!BG in NH

GOLDEN REVIEW Book! “Twin-Bred” by Karen A. Wyle

“ The main characters are interesting, the plot intriguing, and the world well fleshed out. ” – Kaila

Can interspecies diplomacy begin in the womb?

Humans have lived on Tofarn, planet of creeks and rivers, for seventy years, but they still don’t understand the Tofa. The Tofa are an enigma, from their featureless faces to the four arms that sometimes seem to be five. They take arbitrary umbrage at the simplest human activities, while annoying their human neighbors in seemingly pointless ways. The next infuriating, inexplicable incident may explode into war.
Scientist Mara Cadell’s radical proposal: that host mothers carry fraternal twins, human and Tofa, in the hope that the bond between twins can bridge the gap between species. Mara knows about the bond between twins: her own twin, Levi, died in utero, but she has secretly kept him alive in her mind as companion and collaborator.
Perhaps Mara should have expected the enigmatic Tofa to have their own reasons to support her project. Perhaps the ever-cynical Levi should have warned her that members of the human government might use her twins as weapons against the Tofa. Will the Twin-Bred bring peace, war, or something else entirely?
Science fiction with a sociological and psychological focus, TWIN-BRED follows in the footsteps of Ursula K. LeGuin’s The Left Hand of Darkness and Mary Doria Russell’s The Sparrow.

Editorial Reviews:

“Luke Murphy’s Dead Man’s Hand is a pleasure, a debut novel that doesn’t read like one, but still presents original characters and a fresh new voice.” —Thomas Perry, New York Times bestselling author of Poison Flower

“It’s always a pleasure to welcome a new voice to the ranks of mystery-thriller authors. So welcome Luke Murphy, who delivers plenty of both in his debut novel, Dead Man’s Hand. Give it an evening and you may want to give it the whole night, just to see how it turns out.” —William Martin, New York Times bestselling author of Back Bay and The Lincoln Letter

“Luke Murphy writes in a clean, mean style, as compelling as a switchblade to your throat. Murphy’s the real deal.” —Rick Mofina, award-winning author of They Disappeared

“Dead Man’s Hand is a pedal-to-the-metal thriller. Luke Murphy pours a load of talent into his first novel, and it takes off on the first page. Vivid characters and wire-taut plotting make Murphy’s novel a five star read. Don’t begin Dead Man’s Hand if you need to do anything else today.” —James Thayer, author of White Star

“What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas? Be glad. Be very glad. Luke Murphy puts on display the seedy underbelly of Sin City, where deceit, treachery, vengeance and the double cross are practiced like an art form. For a tight taut thriller, bet on a Dead Man’s Hand.” —Anthony Bidulka, award-winning author of the Russell Quant Mysteries

“Calvin Watters is an anti-hero you will cheer in this solid debut that poses twisted questions about crime and punishment.” —Julie Kramer, award-winning author of Shunning Sarah

What if your novel attracts the wrong kind of attention?

Author Beth Rider’s vampire novel has hit number one, but her fictitious plot puts her in the crosshairs of an ancient race of vampiric beings known as the Rakum. Spreading evil among mankind for thousands of years, the leadership of this bloodthirsty race now has a singular focus: catch Beth Rider—her very life in mortal jeopardy as she goes on the run, a rabbit desperate to escape the worst of predators.

Facing the most terrifying trial of her life against creatures known only in fables, one simple woman will unintentionally threaten the very existence of a powerful and accursed people. In the climactic mêlée, it is a race to the death—or if Beth has her way, a race to the life—of every Rakum who makes the choice.

THIS NOVEL INCLUDES A BONUS: In the back, “Loose Rabbits of the Rabbit Trilogy.” 20 short stories featuring the characters of this amazing series. Also sold separately.

One of the MANY five star reviews!

Finally, an author has hit upon a really new idea which intrigues the “vampire” enthusiast and challenges the adequacy of the faith of the religious crowd. Within the 340 pages of Ellen Maze’s book: Rabbit: Chasing Beth Rider we are given a believable beginning for the vampire race and exposed to the contortions of that evil society without soiling one’s sensibilities in the standards of the trade; lust, porn, and gore. Mrs. Maze’s thesis of faith-based battling of evil challenged my views of my own theological adequacy. I tackled this novel with the intent to find fault with it’s theology but came away seeing “the plank” in my own eye.

The depth of the characters, the solid theology, a this-could-really-happen storyline, and the self-examination brought about by this reading left me wanting to meet these people, help their efforts, and encounter their God. I truly admonish all to join the chase and seek the Rabbit.

Yes, Rabbit wlll shake your world. There is only one bit of advice to be given: READ THIS ONE!  – Robert L. Boatner

GOLDEN REVIEW Kindle Book! “SICK” by Jen Smith

A captivating and moving true story about the pain and entrapment of life in addiction and hope for freedom from bondage. ”  – L. Anton

Small time drug deals and a passion for growing pot filled my world before I met Greg. But the first time I got off a flight, strolled over to the baggage claim in my carefully chosen new outfit and picked up two brand new flowered suitcases filled with eighty pounds of Mexican swag pot, I felt like I had found my true calling in life. The adrenaline rush of getting away with something big along with the money I would make was a new kind of high I’d never before experienced. I was instantly addicted. Making money organizing drug runs around the country was intense. Greg and I were a money making duo like none other. Life with Greg was exciting for a while but it wasn’t long before it became a cat and mouse game – then a complete nightmare.

Words like belittling and narcissistic were not in my vocabulary. Later, learning these words helped me disconnect from the mental torture. The tension would build as I protected him while he isolated me from friends and family. Then there would be an incident of abuse which confused me. At first it was lying, hurtful words and actions but quickly escalated to guns at my head, knives, and using my son to manipulate and control me. The honeymoon phase would be another fabulous trip to Hawaii or resort hopping around the world. I didn’t see the cycle or even understand abuse. The drugs and alcohol allowed me to tolerate and numb the pain until my spirit dwindled down to a shadow of nothingness. How could I escape the far reaching sabotage of any attempt at my freedom? Could there be a way out? Could I find a way to spare my son from this drug infested violent existence that would surely crush his soul?

From the moment I picked up my kindle and started reading, I was hooked. The storyline was enchanting and pulled me along with it the entire time. I actually felt I was right there with Ivy when she was running in the forest trying to get away from Beast, I too, was literally gasping for air.

Emily Casey you have a wonderful gift. You took the characters of the Beauty and the Beast Fable and totally made them your own. I loved that there were bits and pieces from the original tales but twisted into your own.

I’m very eager to read your next installment in the Ivy Thorn Series.

GOLDEN REVIEW Book! “Murder & Mayhem in Goose Pimple Junction” by Amy Metz

An Old Mystery In 1932, John Hobb, father of four, is a witness to a bank robbery. He identifies the robbers and testifies against them. They are later pardoned by the governor. In 1935, Hobb is found in his idling car by the side of the road, dead from a gunshot wound to the head. The circumstances surrounding his death are a mystery, and the killer is unknown. In 2010, John Hobb’s murder is still unsolved when Tess Tremaine moves into his former house. She finds a job at the local bookstore, which is owned by Lou Stafford, the youngest daughter of John Hobb. During renovations to the old house, Tess finds a mysterious old key, labeled “trunk.” Mayhem ensues when she attempts to find the owner of the key: Her house is broken into twice, but nothing is taken; she finds cigarette butts and footprints outside a bedroom window; she gets threatening phone calls and ominous messages in the mail; she and a friend are attacked on the street. All of this has the opposite reaction than was intended–it doesn’t scare her away, it strengthens her resolve to find John Hobb’s murderer.

This reader loved it!

When I first read the blurb for this book I was curious how someone would solve a 75 year old mystery. Anyone involved would surely be dead, so how on earth would you investigate such a thing? But Tess soon discovers that when she starts poking her nose into the past, someone is out to make sure that the past stays buried! . I think this book proves just how strong family ties are in the South. The weaving of the 1930s story with the modern day story is seamless…there is no confusion at all like you sometimes get when two time periods are being tied together. The mystery is absolutely riveting…I was suspicious of several different characters at times (even Tess’ love interest!), and proven to be wrong each time.

I really don’t know how to put into words how much I loved this book except to say you just have to read it. Goose Pimple Junction, Tennessee is the perfect setting for a Southern mystery series and I am so excited that subsequent books are planned. (I read about the upcoming storylines on the author’s website and my mouth is just watering!!!) The “goosepimpleisms” had me in stitches and several times I laughed out loud and had to read them to the nearest family member in the room. I loved the secondary characters…Jack, Lou, Pimple, Martha Maye, sweet little Ezzie! This book is pure southern charm and had me longing for a glass of sweet tea and the friendship of these wonderful characters.  –  M. Lapierre

Julia arrives, soon charmed by the lovely city and her handsome host, but her stay is marred by a shocking discovery. Can Julia’s story save her career, Eufaula, and the annual Pilgrimage?

One of the MANY five star reviews:

Lauren Clark, author of Stay Tuned, produces another great book Dancing Naked in Dixie. New York “yankee” magazine writer Julia is sent to cover an event set in a small Alabama town full of historic mansions. Since she is accustomed to having assignments in exotic places such as Bali, Southern Alabama is not tops on her list of places to visit for her magazine. Once she begins her assignment, she encounters mystery and romance and even develops a fondness for a place that she swore she would rather dance naked than travel to. The author injects some lively escapades and lots of humor into the story. I loved this book as much as Stay Tuned, and read it in one sitting. Maxine Kidder Avid Reader  – Frances Warren
