ON A REVIEW SITE:
When I first read the description for this book, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it. However, the glowing reviews made me give it a chance.
Honestly though, a romance that starts with a kidnapping? How is that going to work?
It worked out great!
The chemistry between Liz and Jake felt very real. It (obviously) wasn’t a love at first sight thing, but it ended up being very intense and real.
Jake had a mental breakdown after his last tour and he thought Liz was a women he could never save back in the Middle East. Of course Liz was not there and neither was the apparition he was seeing.
Doesn’t matter in the end, because Jake drugs Liz and smuggles her to a small, close knit town in Canada.
I don’t want to give too much away, but I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good romance.
I couldn’t figure out how it was going to end, but I did love the ending. Bittersweet and something that would actually happen in real life.
Jake, a US Marine, has been on a nonstop roller coaster ride in the Middle East since 2002. While on medical leave seeking help for PTSD he snaps and abducts a woman thinking it will be the remedy plaguing his thoughts. The woman, Liz, witnesses Jake’s hallucinations, night terrors and anxieties. She quickly becomes sympathetic to her captor’s plight and a relationship flourishes between the two. *Hasty Resolution contains adult sexual content.
